Simple on purpose. No cash invoice for the processing. Your payment is half of the finished yarn.
1. You pack and ship
Skirt what you can. Bag the fleece. Write your first name, city and state, and the animal’s name or fiber type on a slip inside the box. You pay postage to Iowa.
2. It hits the queue
When the box is opened it is logged in the order it arrived. That row goes on the public board: first name, city and state, animal or type, date, status.
3. It is worked in line
Wash, dry, pick or comb, card, spin. First received is first processed. Photos go up as the fleece changes form.
4. Finished yarn is split
Whatever usable yarn comes off the wheel is divided in half. Your half ships back. You pay that return postage. Greener Pathways keeps the other half as payment.
What “50/50 of finished product” means
Raw fleece is not yarn. Dirt, vegetable matter, short bits, and second cuts come out along the way. The split is measured on the yarn that is actually finished — not on the weight of the dirty fleece in the box.
Please don’t ship
Moldy or rotting fiber, wet fleece sealed in plastic for a long ride in summer heat, or a felted brick that cannot be opened by hand. If you are unsure, send a photo first.
